Reasons to Buy in Summer ( What You Want To Know Wednesdays )

Summer days are the longest of the year. Longer days means more time to shop and higher visibility.   The most homes are sold in May, June, July, and August.  According to Housingwire.com, those 4 months account for 40% of an average year’s total home – selling volume.  What does this mean for buyers and sellers? Buyers have a higher chance of finding their dream home, and sellers have a higher chance of selling their home quickly.  Some reasons to go home shopping in summer are:

  1. Inventory is broader – You’ll have more options in the summer months to find the home that you’re looking for.

  2. Buying and selling at the same time could be easier - If you have to sell your home before you can purchase a new one, this is a good time for both transactions.

  3. School is out – There is less interruption to your children’s lives when moving during summer.

  4. You’ll get to know the lay of the land – You’ll have more time to get to know the neighborhood and what the home really looks like.
